Sydney's best DJ tutoring destination
Wanting to become a professional DJ and don’t know where to start from?! Tried Youtube and online tutorials but none of them made sense?! A friend tried to explain but it all sounded like Marsian language?!
That's ok as it's understandable, DJing can sound like a complicated thing...

For an entry-level DJ it can be quite confusing without having the fundamentals of mixing explained in theory and hands-on experience, and that’s what I make sure of here in the one-on-one DJ sessions, which is to make all of this sophisticated journey too easy to understand and too enjoyable.
What you need for a start is:
- Passion for music
- Passion for moving the crowd
- The will to go on this amazing limitless journey
What you don’t need for a start is:
- Dj gear (You don’t have to own/buy)
- The thought of how hard it is

Here at Disc Jockey, I provide all the latest club standard equipment (CDJs & Controllers) in addition to the music and gear. So you don’t have to bring anything along with you except for your will and motivation, and you can leave the rest for me.
Professional Djing will be far beyond your imagination
You will be surprised!
The problem with nowadays’ musical entertainment industry is the affordable DJ equipment at everybody’s hands, whom can afford to purchase and without having a single clue about the fundamentals, they pretend to be amazing DJs just because their friends dance on the mainstream music they play.
With that being said, unfortunately, Sydney’s nightlife is losing its clubbing quality because the “music players” or “music fans” are behind those decks.
Thus what you’ll learn here and in order to be a professional DJ is the following:
- Introduction to the club-standard equipment
- The fundamentals of mixing
- Cut mixing & beat-matching
- Smooth mixing & Transitioning
- Mixing harmonically
- Mixing energies
- Mastering the blendings
- Mastering the software capabilities
- Mastering mixing ethnic music
- Mastering the decks (all of their functions)
- How to setup for an event
Disc Jockey members earn additional discounts on all equipment purchases because of our affiliations with certain stores
Once you decide to purchase your equipment, I’ll guide you through it
Please take a moment to read this FAQ before enquiring
Although I have broad experience in this field, I cannot foretell the number of sessions are required to become a good DJ. It actually all depends on how much of a fast learner your are and how fast you progress. But normally you would need at least 5 sessions
Nope, at least not at the beginning, just take 1 or 2 sessions and see how like it and then you can decide from there, if you’d like to continue I will be happy to refer you to an affiliated store where you can get a special discount upon purchasing. After the 2nd session you will need equipment to practice in between sessions
Yep, but not on the first session though, as it will be introduction to the fundamentals of mixing. So you won’t need them, but you’ll surely get back to your place and will know how to use them afterwards.
I do not teach in groups, group sessions can be distractive & allow little time for limited questions & answers. Thus, my sessions are private and 1-on-1 only
I would recommend 14+ but due to the recent enquiries, my tutoring sessions met success for the ages of 12. (I hold the working with children check)
First beginner session will be 90 minutes for $100
After that you can choose between:
1 hour session for $100
90 minutes session for $130
Payment can be made with: Credit/Debit card – Pay ID – Cash
Not at the moment, but as soon as I consider it, I will post it here on the page
Certainly, once you reach the advanced level you’ll be welcomed to join our DJ group that is actually awesome and you’ll happen to watch their performances and get their shared music
Please note that giving the opportunity of staying and watching during the session is highly recommended as it motivates your child and eliminates any kind of stress, so you are more than welcome to attend.
